Researcher development: Introducing impact metrics for research or publication Online
This online workshop has the following introductory-level learning objectives:
• understanding about what key measures of research impact represent
• familiarity with some of the key bibliometrics that are provided by platforms like Google Scholar and Scopus (Elsevier)
• knowledge about finding and applying metrics to identify relevant authors or high-impact journals for either research or publication purposes
• awareness of alternative metrics ('Altmetrics')
• awareness of more recent free online academic search engines and bibliographic databases (‘ASEBD’s) and their metrics, like: Microsoft Academic, Dimensions, 1findr
