Researcher Development: Getting Permission: Using images, music and other people’s work in your thesis or coursework

Researcher Development: Getting Permission: Using images, music and other people’s work in your thesis or coursework In-Person

You are invited to participate in the University Library’s Getting Permission: Using images, music and other people’s work in your thesis or coursework workshop. This session – repeated across two dates in Semester One – aims to explore the cross-over between what the copyright requirements are for using third party material within your work prior to the final submission and publication of your thesis or coursework.

  • Do I need permission?
  • What is a public domain item and can I use it?
  • Deciphering Creative Commons licensed material
  • Requesting permission from the copyright owner
  • Publication refusal and plagiarism

If you would like an overview on copyright for researchers prior to attending this workshop, please register for the Copyright for Researchers: An overview workshop that will also be running this Semester.
