Getting started with Westlaw – drop in student session Online
Facilitated by one of Westlaw's ANZ training specialists, this session provides an in-depth overview and demonstration of Westlaw Australia covering searching and browsing primary and secondary law and how to manage legal research.
At the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Confidently navigate the Westlaw (Australia) Home Page
- Find content in plan through accessing “My subscription”
- Understand how to search to:
- find a relevant case, legislation, and secondary sources (commentary, journal, reviews, encyclopaedia, forms and precedents, books, news)
- examine and understand Key Numbers (case law classification system)
- understand and use keyword and Terms and Connectors searches.
- Conduct advanced searching using the Advanced Search Template
- Refine, filter and sort search results
- Annotate content (highlights, notes, snippets) and organise case research with favourites, preferences, and folders.
